Moe and Duncan could both get to 1,000 points today, joining MAAR (1176 overall) who reached it earlier this season with his huge free throws against Maryland at home.
I obviously know the team result is bigger. However, 1000 points is a cool career accomplishment and seeing as there is an outside chance of both getting there today, I figured it was worth a board topic.
Duncan has 993, so he needs 7. (402 r. soph, 291 jr., 300 this year)
Mo has 972, so he needs a huge game with 28, but it is doable. (86, 458, 428).
For context, according to MGOBLUE, (which looks like it was last updated at some point in the last 2 seasons because it refers to zak irvin as a current player and doesn't have walton listed). It would appear, that 1000 points (Wayman Britt) would be our 52nd top scorer now that MAAR and Walton have passed him.
If this season continues on for a few games, it is not totally out of the question that this team will have 3 top 50 scorers of all time for the program (need 1041 total). Seems cool to me.
